Etrakien is the fantasy world I’ve been building for nearly 15 years. That might sound like a long time, but it hasn’t been a continuous effort. There were times when I set it aside for months, even years. Yet, no matter how long I stayed away, I always found my way back. There’s something special about having a world of your own—one that you can shape, expand, and discover over time.
In Etrakien, humans are the dominant race, though other humanoid species exist in more isolated regions. The world is divided into two vast regions: the civilized lands, home to great kingdoms, empires, and cities, and the wild frontiers beyond. In these untamed lands, ancient ruins, mythical creatures, and barbarian tribes remain untouched by time.
The world as it exists today is built upon the remnants of a lost civilization, one that was destroyed in a war against the gods. Though centuries have passed, echoes of that conflict remain—crumbling ruins, forgotten legends, and fractures in reality itself. In certain places, these fractures still open, forming gateways to the mysterious Borderlands.
After the War of the Gods, humanity barely survived. Over time, they rebuilt, creating new civilizations where the horrors of the past became little more than myth. The Etrakien Empire rose to power, ruling the world for centuries—until the Black Plague struck, wiping out nearly half the population. The once-mighty empire collapsed, splintering into smaller kingdoms. Though the empire still exists, it is now a shadow of its former self, weakened by civil war and corruption.
And yet, the world continues to change and grow—just as all worlds do, whether real or imagined.
